Coincidentally, we walked past this restaurant when we saw the enclosed courtyard. Fortunately, there was still a table available for lunch, so we settled here immediately. We discovered a hidden gem in Venice

Corte Sconta
Bar at Corte Sconte

The first thing we noticed was an authentic Italian trattoria with a large bar, next to it a very nice courtyard with grape vines and umbrellas for shade. The second was that there are only Italians here. We were the only tourists going here for lunch. So this must be a good address if the locals come here for lunch

The menu is limited, the dishes on the menu have surprising combinations. The wine list is much more extensive than we thought, but of course we are in Italy. Many wines in different price ranges, the wine starts at €15 per bottle and there are bottles above €100. So something for everyone, this is what we love.

Menu

Cees took black spaghetti with scallops and zucchini flower A plate of al dente cooked pasta, colored by squid ink, with large chunks of scallops and a wonderfully creamy fish sauce with zucchini appears, what a delight.

Black spaghetti

Thomas took fettuccine with red snapper and a pea sauce. Fettuccine is a narrower version than tagliatelle. This pasta was also cooked al dente. The sauce was very creamy and delicious with peas and quite a bit of fish. Enjoying.

We ordered a bottle of Vermentino with the dishes. Wonderfully fresh wine.

Wine at Corte Scote

We both ordered a salad with olive oil and balsamic. This salad was top notch and was even better than the salad we had at Cip’s club.

Salad at Rosis

Of course we ended the meal with coffee, which was very tasty, but how could it be otherwise in Italy.

Espresso

You won’t find this restaurant in the guidebooks, but if you want authentic Italian food, this is a must visit in Venice.

Corte Sconta

Service

The service here is very good. Good recommendations if you want it, staff speak good English. Food came to the table quickly.

Corte Sconta

Overall

A real hidden gem, many Italians who come here. Beautiful dishes and a great courtyard garden. If we lived in Venice we would be regulars here.
