The menu includes dishes with exciting combinations. For example, there is Thai squid with sausages, a seaweed salad with daikon and mushrooms and ribeye with bread and butter pudding.
Menu
I take the Thai squid with Thai sausages and papaya. The presentation is good, the taste is excellent. I don’t know what I taste. The dish is spicy, fresh and slightly sour at the same time. The papaya salad is spicy and there is a kind of sambal on the plate, the squid is left pure and the sausages are nicely spicy. Every bite is a new taste experience.
Thomas has Peruvian fried chicken. You can smell the dish before it is even put on the table, our mouths are watering. The chicken is fried and lies on a salad of sweet potato, coriander and other herbs.
For the main course I take halibut in Laksa curry with beans, coconut and nuts. What a great combination. The firm fish with the slightly spicy sauce of Malaysian curry. The coconut flavor made for a lighter spiciness. There were quite a lot of al-dente noodles in the sauce.
Thomas took fried halibut with a sauce of tomato and pancetta breadcrumbs. With it broccolini, pumpkin and beans. Two large pieces of halibut with the tomato sauce lie on the vegetables. The taste is also fantastic here. We are enjoying ourselves to the fullest.
The dishes are large.
Interior
The interior reflects the rugged nature of Vancouver Island. A lot of wood has been used, there are large wooden tables and of course smaller ones, the ceiling is made of wood and there is a huge wooden art object. The drinks wall looks very nice. In addition, the interior is industrial. We sat on the balcony, there was the heater on, it was very warm. It went out and the smaller heaters were turned on. This was more than enough.
The bar is central to the restaurant.
Een must visit when in Tofino.
