Many celebrities have visited this pink-coloured historic hotel, part of the Dorchester collection. It had been on our bucket list for a while to have brunch or spend the night here. This time we made a reservation for brunch. Brunch is served on Sundays between 12 noon and 4 p.m. Reservations are a must, even then you usually have to wait before a table on the patio becomes available.

The Beverly Hills Hotel

Arrival

Upon arrival, a valet parking team will be waiting to collect the car. After we are greeted by a number of people, we walk over the red carpet into the hotel. Immediately afterwards we are welcomed by a gentleman who takes us to the Polo Lounge . The polo lounge is the place where brunch is served. It is one of the most legendary locations in the city.

The lady who receives us indicates that we can sit directly in the dining room if we want, but if we want a table outside the waiting time is about 30 minutes. We decide to wait for a table outside because the weather is beautiful. After 20 minutes in the very nice polo lounge, we are escorted to our table.

Patio

We sit down and immediately our waiter is at the table who introduces himself and explains the principle of brunch. We get a menu. The menu includes various drinks, from cocktails to wine and from champagne to soft drinks. In addition, there are several starters, main courses and desserts on the menu. Brunch consists of these components. You can choose 1 dish from each category, for a fixed price. Dishes on the menu include lobster roll, seafood plate, salads, steak with egg, etc. Lots of choice and something for everyone.

We have a Chardonnay and a pink cocktail. The pink cocktail consists of rosé, liqueur and soda water with grapefruit. Coincidentally, we want to eat the same thing.

Drinks during brunch

People celebrate their birthdays and weddings here, as a couple or with groups of friends. It is very nice to see that most people are really enjoying brunch here. The ambiance is great. The patio consists of smaller areas where there are a few tables. The areas are shielded by shrubs and flowers, so privacy is guaranteed.

Brunch

The first dish we get is ahi tuna with soy sauce, roman lettuce and avocado. The tuna is very fresh and very well prepared. The soy sauce provides a slightly salty taste. The roman lettuce does not have a dressing and is deliciously crunchy.

Then we have brioche with wagyu burger and caramelized onions. The wagyu meat perfectly cooked the way we like it. Rare for one medium and medium for another. The burger comes with fries, these are very good fries that are very long and nice and crispy.

For dessert we have cheesecake with blueberries, we want a cup of coffee at the same time with dessert. Usually you get the coffee first or the dessert first, here it comes at exactly the same time. Great, this is as it should be.

Cheese cake

Our waiter is so incredibly friendly, no request is too much. We get an empty doggy bag, we wanted this and our waiter went to get it immediately.

Farewell

We pay and then we will unfortunately leave the hotel again, but not before we have strolled in the shops downstairs and bought a cap from the hotel.

We enjoyed the brunch. It’s a must do in Los Angeles. The valet parking quickly picks up the car, we pay for the car and leave the heaven called The Beverly Hills.
