Enchantment

This hidden gem Enchantment and Mii Amo is located against the red rocks, outside the village of Sedona. Both resorts belong to the same complex, Mii Amo is part of Relais & Chateaux while Enchantment has no partnership.

Arrival

The arrival is spectacular. To get to the entrance of the hotel, you drive through nature, along various trails and then you arrive at a gate where guests give their names. There you will be told the route you need to take to get to reception. At the valet parking, people immediately know your name. We were escorted to reception and were able to check in. Check-in goes smoothly. A bellhop will then come to you, give you a tour of the hotel grounds and escort you to the room.

Room (#272)

We have a jr. Suite. The Casitas are all separate buildings that span the entire garden of the resort. Usually 4 rooms under 1 roof. Our room has a view of the red rocks and the back of the rooms in front of it, we think this is one of the better rooms.

The room is large, has two double beds, a sofa, desk, fireplace and a large bathroom. The room is comfortably furnished. Don’t expect extreme luxury, but expect friendliness and a clean room. From a sustainability point of view, two water bottles are available for guests. You can also take these with you and they will be offered to you. There are stations in several places to refill your water.

Restaurants & Bar

There are 2 restaurants at Enchantment (Tii Gavo and Che Ah Chi) and 1 restaurant at Mii Amo (Hummingbird). The restaurant Che Ah Chi is very good, we had an excellent meal here. The service is impeccable and the food is very good. We had dinner here and the great thing here is that you can also get wine through a coravin. The wines are therefore served in different wine glasses (as it should be).

We also visited Hummingbird. We have high expectations for this and were happy that a table was available, it was the last table. When we entered the restaurant was almost empty and it remained almost empty all evening. Why we have the last table is a mystery. The food is good, but not special. You can expect more from a Relais & Chateaux restaurant. The food at Che Ah Chi is better in quality and the service is also better. Lots of little things went wrong at Hummingbird. Water was spilled on the floor, it was not cleaned up, wine carafes were placed on an empty table and not taken away, the food was cold etc. We expected more from Hummingbird.

A must visit is the bar at Enchantment. The view is breathtaking and the service is top notch. From the balustrade there is a view of the red rocks. This is especially recommended at sunset.

Spa & Gym

The spa is lovely. This is mainly used before and after a massage treatment. I used the spa after going to the gym. There is a steam room and a dry sauna. Both are pleasant. The sauna has a glass wall.

The gym is good and has everything you want. A nice gym. Enough water, enough towels and enough equipment.

Breakfast

The breakfast is excellent. Here you order a-la-carte. We booked through Virtuoso and therefore receive a credit of $60. You can have breakfast for this amount. Because the large swimming pool at Enchantment was being renovated, breakfast was served at Tii Gavo. The view there is again breathtaking.

Swimming pool

The pool at Enchantment was closed during our stay. We could use a pool at villa 49 and the pool at Mii Amo. We did the latter. The pool service is ok. It is not what you expect at a 5-star Relais & Chateaux hotel. Water is not always brought to the seat, it may take a while before you can order food/drinks and refreshments are not available. However, the swimming pool is excellent, there is nothing wrong with this, but at a Relais or other luxury 5-star hotel you expect a little more from the pool service.

Overall

We really enjoyed. The layout of the property is very good. It is a very large park. Buggies drive around to take guests from one location to another. We thoroughly enjoy our stay at Enchantment and would like to come back. We prefer Enchantment instead of Mii Amo. Everything is just better at Enchantment, while you would expect it to be exactly the other way around.
