Sedona is known for its energy, red rocks and the amazing hikes you can make. On the advice of Trailhouse we are going to hike the Munds Wagon trail and Hangover trail.

At the starting point there is a small parking lot where you have to pay $5 to park here. Then you have to walk a bit through a park and then there is the path for Munds Wagon.

The path runs through the woods, along the rocks and is very easily accessible. After about 1 hour we come across a sign “Hangover Trail”. We are taking this path. Tip: Don’t do this, this is officially the end of the Hangover Trail. We didn’t know that.

Hangover trail
We walk the first part through the woods, towards the red rocks / mountains. The trees slowly disappear and we start to climb a bit. At one point we are standing behind a large rock on a plateau. The view from this plateau is amazing. View on all sides, you can see very far and you can see the impressive red rock right in front of you.

White paint stripes have been painted on the rocks. This is the path to follow. The stripes are not always easy to find, we have made a number of wrong choices and climbed unnecessarily.

From time to time we think what are we doing here, especially when the rocks are very sloping and it is difficult to climb up and see a huge abyss next to the rocks, but the view more than makes up for it.

The red rock will be partly climbed, which is cool. Eventually we walk around the rock one and we come to walk in the shadow of the rock. Perfect!
Continue along the road and at a certain point you will reach a plateau again, where it is sometimes difficult to find the white dots
Munds Wagon continued
After a while, the trail ends back on the Munds Wagon trail, which you walk down to the parking lot. The total duration is approx. 3.5-4 hours. Take plenty of water with you. Taking some snacks with you is not a luxury. Do not walk this route if it has rained.
