We love Kempinski and we were pleased to learn that they opened a hotel in Bali in 2019. We visited the hotel from October 1 to October 5 2019 at the start of our beautiful holiday in Bali. What an amazing property, so much luxury, so large, but you do not get the feeling it is huge. The hotel was still in the soft opening phase so not all restaurants were operational and not all hotel rooms were used for guests.

Room

We stayed in Suite 5112. We are Black members of GHA (Global Hotel Alliance) and this means you get a double upgrade based upon availability. Some rooms and suites are excluded from this benefit. We were lucky that we got a double upgrade upon check-in. Suite 5112 is an Apurva Prestige Ocean Suite and is located in the main building on the 11th. floor. The room is very secluded. One floor lower was the club lounge for the suites. The club lounge for the villa’s is outside the main building, but this was not open during our stay.

We arrived late at night. So the turn-down service was already done. We found a nice bottle of Pol Roger 2002 in our room together with some sweet and savoury snacks. The chocolate was excellent and the vintage champagne was so refreshing after an 18 hour flight from Europe. We loved this welcome gift.

The room is 200m2 (2.153 square feet) and has stunning views to the ocean as you can see. There is a living room, a large bed room, two showers, a bath with a view, two toilets and a walkin closet. Last but not least it has a large private pool.

Property

The property is huge. It has 6 restaurants, several pools and a kids pool with waterslides, an open entrance hall and views that are amazing. The property is build on a cliff and therefor extremely high, although you would not expect this if you see it from the street.

A lot of art, space and a peaceful ambiance. It does not feel like a hotel with 475 rooms.

Stairway to heaven

The main building has stairs from the top floor to the pool. We walked these stairs daily. The first days you are wowed by the view if you stand on top of the stairs. You can see the pools, the ocean, the forrest next to the resort and the other buildings including the RC next door. In my opinion this hotel has the best views of Nusa Dua.

Another look to room 5112 from the elevator area. As you can see very private as you do not see the sun-loungers. Close the curtains when you are showering!

Wedding chapel

Wedding chapel looks like a whale

Several weddings took place when we stayed in this resort. The chapel has the shape of a whale and is located in the garden next to the pool and beach. A very romantic place to be marry here.

Cliff Lounge

The Cliff lounge is the lounge for the suites. It is located on the 10th floor of the main building. Here they serve breakfast and they have cocktail hours with snacks. The breakfast is good. There are two areas for breakfast in the lounge (smoking and non-smoking). Eggs are ordered a-la-card. I ate the lobster egg several times, this is a spicy egg dish, great to start your day with.

Espresso Martini
During happy hour they serve great snacks and a large variety of cocktails and mocktails. I had the Espresso Martini several times.

Club pool
The club has also a pool if you do not want to go to the main pool. We did not stay here as we liked the main pool.

Pool

The hotel has several pools from a kids pool to pools in the clubs to the main pool. And of course the beach. The main pool looks incredible big, but because of they layout of the chairs you have a private / secluded feeling. About 8 chairs are in your area. There are small areas from the main water to the laying part. In the water are also waterbed. The architect did do a great job as we never experienced if it was busy or not. We always felt almost alone at the pool, although we saw lot of other people. Service at the pool is great!

Next to one of the restaurants is also a large pool. We stayed there only one afternoon after a great spa treatment.
