Whistler, with its majestic mountains and pristine nature, is a dream for any winter sports enthusiast. During our trip through Canada, we stayed at the prestigious Four Seasons Resort Whistler, and it truly exceeded all our expectations. From the warm welcome to the sublime breakfast, every detail was perfect. The best time to book the Four Seasons Whistler is in winter, but other seasons are also very pleasant. We stayed there in the fall, just as the trees were starting to change color.

Arrival – Warm welcome

From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we felt at home. The friendly receptionist guided us smoothly through the check-in process, where we received a fantastic upgrade to a suite thanks to the Virtuoso program. While the formalities were being handled, we enjoyed a warm apple cider—a small but delicious gesture that immediately set the tone for the rest of our stay.

Suite #605 – Comfort and tranquility in style

Our one-bedroom suite was spacious, tastefully decorated, and fully equipped. While the view wasn’t impressive, the layout and finish of the room more than made up for it. The cozy living room with a fireplace, large sofa, and minibar felt like a second home. The separate hallway with a wardrobe was also practical, perfect for storing ski gear in winter or wet coats.

The bedroom is spacious, and the bed is simply fantastic—without a doubt, one of the best nights’ sleep we’ve had in Canada. You know you’re staying at the Four Seasons when you sleep in beds like this.

The classic marble bathroom with rain shower and double sink gave a feeling of luxury.

The fireplace worked quickly and efficiently, switching itself off as soon as you opened the balcony. We always ended our days with a good book and a glass of wine by the fire.

Restaurants & Bar – Enjoy a cozy meal and culinary treats

The hotel has two dining options: the atmospheric Sidecut restaurant and a warm, inviting bar/lounge, Braidwood Tavern. We enjoyed breakfast there daily, in a setting more reminiscent of a stylish lodge than a classic dining room.

Sidecut was the culinary highlight of our stay for us. For lovers of refined dishes made with local ingredients, it’s highly recommended.

Spa & Gym

After a day in the mountains, there’s nothing quite like relaxing in a good spa. The Four Seasons’ locker rooms offer a compact yet pleasant wellness experience, including a eucalyptus steam sauna – intensely refreshing. Although the space is a bit small for the resort’s size, it rarely felt crowded.

The fitness room, on the other hand, is exceptionally well-equipped, with everything from spinning bikes to a spacious yoga area. The hotel offers daily group classes. We didn’t use them, but the selection is extensive and professional. Water, towels, and fresh towels are always available.

Swimming pool – Swimming among the pine trees

A heated outdoor pool, even in the dead of winter? Yes, and what a pool! The pool is spacious and offers a view of the snow-covered trees. After your swim, head to the sauna. We were here in the fall and could still sit outside; the feeling of swimming in the snow is absolutely magnificent.

Breakfast – A buffet to come back for

Breakfast is often a benchmark for a hotel’s overall quality – and here it was more than adequate. The buffet at Four Seasons Whistler is one of the best we’ve ever experienced, with an abundance of fresh fruit, hot dishes, and homemade treats. It reminded us of the legendary breakfast at Hotel Adlon (Berlin), which is saying something. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere relaxed.

A hotel where you can truly relax

What made this stay so special for us wasn’t just the luxury, but especially the care with which everything was presented. Every staff member seemed to have an eye for detail, without ever feeling intrusive. The Four Seasons Whistler combines the warm, personal feel of a boutique hotel with the amenities and professionalism of a five-star resort.

Would we return here? Absolutely. In fact, on our next trip to Canada, this would be one of our first choices. The Four Seasons Whistler isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a place to unwind, relax, and create memories.
