Outside Los Angeles, but within a very good driving distance to the city is this beautiful Four Seasons hotel. The hotel is known for its large Spa. They have the largest Spa of the entire Four Seasons chain. Service is good and Spa is top notch.
Arrival
The hotel is alive, lots of people walking around in the lobby, people waiting for each other. We see that there is a wedding. It’s a nice hustle and bustle. We are helped directly by the assistant manager and he explains our advantages from Virtuoso . The assistant manager advises not to upgrade because we have one of the better rooms and a room that the hotel is known for, a waterfall room. The room has a view of the waterfall. We are on the 7th floor.
Check-in is quick.

Bedroom (#718)
The room is spacious and nicely decorated. We are very curious about the view of the waterfall because it is unique for the hotel. Because we are on the top floor, we have no view of the waterfall. We see a road where cars are driving, we see the roof of a lower part of the hotel, but no waterfall until we are near the window, then you can see the waterfall. We are disappointed in that respect. So I go to the assistant manager and he tells me that we can’t get an upgrade because the hotel is fully booked. We can get a room on a lower floor where you have a view of the waterfall. We decide not to do that. Don’t want to change rooms when we have the exact same room. If you want to book a waterfall room, ask for a room on the lower floors!

The room is very nice. A sitting area, a sofa, a large bed. Four Seasons is known for its comfortable beds. On the coffee table is a bowl of fresh fruit (figs and grapes). The fruit comes from the surrounding area. The bathroom is spacious and has a bath, separate shower and a toilet. There is 1 sink.

Restaurants and Bar
The hotel has 2 restaurants: Onyx and Coin & Candor. We only ate at Onyx. Onyx is a Japanese restaurant. Not only sushi is on the menu, but other dishes are also served such as a grilled Brussels sprout salad, melon with tomato, Wagyu sandwich and fish and chips. We are not impressed with the quality of the food and leave this restaurant out of our blog.

The Prosperous Penny bar is only open on Fridays and Saturdays. This is very unfortunate. It is a cozy bar where you can get bar snacks in addition to drinks. The décor is very nice. Blue-green walls, big chairs, big couches. Very English furnishings. We love that. The service is very good. We sat down and immediately someone came with the menu for the drinks. After we ordered, the drinks were served quickly.

Spa/ Gym
The gym is great. This is one of the best gyms I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Very big, lots of dumbells, lots of cardio machines, lots and lots of fitness equipment. This makes it a bit of a struggle because you don’t know where to start. After a walk I can start my workout. What a very good gym. Someone who would like to get a good workout during the holidays will find what they are looking for here.

The spa is also very nice. There is a male and female spa. The spa consists of a very large steam room and a large dry sauna. There are quite a lot of beds to relax and the dressing room is large. It is very clean. Someone is constantly walking around to remove towels, who ensures that the water is replenished and that it remains clean. The saunas are quite hot.

Breakfast
Breakfast is served at Coin & Candor. No buffet here, but just like in other Four Seasons hotels, an a-la-card breakfast. Of course standard dishes can be ordered, but there are also very tasty special dishes on the menu. The crème brûlée French toast is very tasty. This one is recommended. The fresh juices are also very good. The service is, as you can and should expect from a Four Seasons, very good. The second day the lady already knew which coffee and juices we had ordered and asked if we wanted them again.

Overall
A very nice hotel to unwind. The hotel is a bit further from Los Angeles (30-45 minutes). In principle, you can get to the city quickly. It is wonderful to relax here outside the hustle and bustle of the city. The pool and spa are top notch. This hotel has the largest spa in the Four Seasons. Because the hotel has large conference rooms, there are also quite a few groups that come here, keep that in mind.
