Tucked away at the top of an office building, the Four Seasons experience begins as soon as you step through the private entrance. On the 39th floor, a world of tranquility and a view that will leave you speechless await: the Imperial Palace at your feet, with a cloud-like pond beneath. From the stylish rooms to the award-winning bar, the incredible breakfast, and the unmissable high tea—this is Tokyo like you won’t find anywhere else. Four Seasons Otemachi isn’t a hotel; it’s an experience.

Arrival
Upon arrival at the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo Otemachi, you’ll notice the building’s multi-functionality. The main entrance is shared with businesses, giving the exterior a business-like feel—not what you’d expect from a luxury hotel. But once you step inside through the discreet private entrance, you’re immediately transported to the serene world of the Four Seasons.
The elevator takes you to the 39th floor, where the reception is located – a spectacular start. There, you’ll be greeted with signature Four Seasons service: elegant, efficient, and personalized. Thanks to our booking through Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR), we were able to access our room before the official check-in time.

Room (#3838) – Luxury on the top floor
Our room was on the 38th floor—the highest floor with guest rooms. And what a view! A direct view of the Imperial Palace and the expansive palace gardens. From both the king-size bed and the sofa by the window, the view is breathtaking. The Tokyo skyline is also clearly visible. We are speechless.

Upon entering, you first encounter a hallway with a walk-in closet and a beautifully built-in coffee station. It sounds odd, but it’s more logical than you might think. The sleeping area exudes pure luxury, with a top-quality bed (this is the Four Seasons) and bedside tables equipped with a wireless speaker compatible with your smartphone.

The sofa by the window is inviting and comfortable – perfect for enjoying the sunset view with a glass of wine. Upon arrival, a selection of fresh fruit and delicate pastries awaited us on the coffee table.

The bathroom deserves a special mention: naturally, it features a high-tech Japanese toilet that opens and closes automatically, double sinks, and a rain shower with a view of the palace. Thanks to the room’s height, we often chose to leave the curtains open while showering—a unique, somewhat voyeuristic experience with a “wow” factor, especially in the evening when the city lights are on.

Restaurant & Bar – Taste and style in perfect harmony
The hotel’s absolute hotspot is the Virtù bar, voted one of the world’s best bars by experts in 2024. The ambiance is intimate, dark, and stylish – exactly what you’d expect from a world-class establishment. Cocktails are not only delicious but also a spectacle in themselves. The Smoky Old Fashioned is prepared tableside and is both a visual and gustatory highlight.

The Italian restaurant Pigneto – where breakfast is also served – is excellent. Both dinner and breakfast are characterized by culinary precision and outstanding service. The kitchen offers authentic Italian flavors with a modern twist.

The hotel also has restaurant Est(*), where we ate, but we wouldn’t recommend it. The service was subpar, not Michelin-star.
Tip: have a drink on the roof terrace at sunset.

Breakfast – A culinary start to the day
Breakfast at the Four Seasons Tokyo is simply phenomenal. From European classics to Asian specialties, everything is exquisitely prepared and beautifully presented. The chia seed pudding with kaffir lime and milk is an unexpected highlight – fresh, creamy, and perfectly balanced.
Thanks to our FHR booking, breakfast was included – this is one of the benefits of the program.

High Tea – An experience not to be missed
This hotel’s Afternoon High Tea is famous—and rightly so. Even if you’re not staying overnight, it’s worth making a reservation. The pastries are works of art, the presentation is meticulous, and the tea options are carefully curated. For true tea lovers, this is an unmissable experience in Tokyo.

Location – Very centrally located near the metro
While some travelers claim the hotel isn’t centrally located because it’s not in Shibuya or Shinjuku, this is a misconception. The hotel is situated directly above Otemachi Station, one of Tokyo’s major subway hubs. You can reach every district of the city in no time – ideal for both business and leisure travelers.

Spa, Gym & Swimming Pool – An oasis of tranquility
The spa and fitness room are modern, spacious, and offer all the amenities you’d expect from a luxury hotel. The pool is a hidden gem with city views, perfect for a moment of relaxation.

Overall
The Four Seasons Tokyo at Otemachi is a perfect choice for travelers who demand nothing less than the best. From the exceptional rooms to the world-famous bar and the phenomenal breakfast, luxury is reflected in every detail. This hotel proves that hospitality, design, and comfort can be combined at a level few other hotels achieve. It’s no wonder the hotel has received 3 Michelin Keys.
